Common Questions
Casey Anthony's Long Hair
It's hard to imagine anything in the Casey Anthony trial, after the reading of the verdict, could escalate the drama further. On the day of sentencing, however, the new star of "the show" became Casey's hair. It's a sad day when a real-life murder case becomes entertainment but there's no doubt - however you feel about the verdict - that amdist all the hype and drama, it was Casey's HAIR that caught everyone's attention. Just another testament to the power of a woman's hair.
In all liklihood Casey Anthony won't be starting any trends in hair fashion but she certainly followed one by creating an image of beauty with the help of long hair.
Villain, vamp, sweet or salty - hair makes a difference!

Beautify Your Hair From The Inside Out!
There are minerals and vitamins in our waters that are good for your hair and nails. Stuff you'd never think in a million years you want to consume! In my research I've found something that I believe really works - don't let the name scare you - it's called blue-green algae and you can buy it in a powder form from many reputable health food stores and sources. I'm not a distributor or a representative for this product by the way - I just think it works.
I've listed some benefits below as well as a recipe (to disguise the flavor - though the flavor isn't bad at all - think of a mild form of wheat-grass juice). Enjoy!
About Blue-Green Algae...
Klamath Lake blue-green algae is a form of micro-algae phytoplankton that differs from spirulina in that it prefers fresh water as opposed to brackish, salt water. Blue green algae improves our immune system and to better adapt to changing conditions in our environment, which is so needed because of the disastrous changes in our weather and eco system. Blue green algae is loaded with chlorophyll which helps build our blood and fight leukemia as well as certain forms of skin and liver cancer. BGA is an excellent source of B vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12. B vitamins fight stress by helping to more efficiently convert polysaccharides and other carbohydrates into glucose for immediately available energy, endurance, and stamina. We all need that for sure.
Blue-Green Algae is a complete protein source containing appx. 60 percent protein, and 18 amino acid. Phycocyanin helps with formation of neurotransmitters by acting to assist in the attachment of one amino acid to another.
Blue-Green Algae Recipe: Praise The Lord Miracle Guacamole2 large ripe avocado, mashed3 large ripe red tomatoes, diced3 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro2 tablespoons chopped oregano3 cloves finely minced garlic2 pinches Himalayan sea salt¼ of red onion finely chopped1 ½ teaspoon of Blue-green algae powderMix all together and eat it with raw carrot chips, endives or healthy blue corn chips.Say Your Grace!!
Kim Kardashian's Beautiful Hair Extensions
Many hair extension clients want "Kim Kardashian hair". That's what they say when they want 22-24 inches of long black (#1) or dark brown (#1B) hair. As a hair extension stylist I usually suggest the Micro-Indies Technique - an individual technique of hair extension that uses single strands of hair grouped together to give an extremely natural look. Kim Kardashian knows how to make her hair work for her and I tell women from all walks of life that they can have that kind of sex appeal as well. Even if their natural hair is only a few inches long. Hair extension techniques like Micro-Indies, Malaysian, and Swedish produce extremely flat and smooth results like those seen on Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Lisha.Com has more on hair extensions!

The women of the Scandinavian countries of Sweden, Denmark and Norway are known for their blonde hair and light coloured eyes. While blonde hair may be desirable for some, for many women with naturally blonde hair, this also means their hair is fine and doesn't reach desired thickness. Of course, it isn't just blondes with thin hair problems as many women from all ethnicities have hair with this characteristic. My first advice is always to accept yourself for the way you were made but I also say there is no shame in doing something about the things you want to change! Thanks to The Swedish technique of Hair Extensions there is a solution to thin hair!
An interesting fact about the origin of blonde hair: A recent Japanese study says that blonde hair originated in Northern Europe 11,000 years ago due to a lack of Vitamin D. Because many Northern regions spend a great deal of time without sunshine (a big source for Vitamin D) their populations evolved with thinner skin and hair to allow for more sun to penetrate.
So for you blondes with thin, fine hair - it's not your fault! Being a hair extension stylist I've always known that natural blondes frequently have finer hair and that's why I developed The Swedish Technique. It's a special method of hair extension designed specifically for people with thin, fine hair. African-American, Caucasion, Asian, dark haired, red heads - fine hair is common in all ethnicities and hair types. Some more than others and for different reasons (usually genetic but frequently diet related).
Swedish Hair Extensions Solves The Fine Hair Dilemma!
The Swedish Technique is specifically suited for women with fine hair because it uses a single thread and eye-lash wefted hair to create a super flat, extremely natural look. Many techniques of hair extension were developed in the African-American community at a time when thin hair was not nearly as common. In fact, due to the thickness of most African-American women's hair there wasn't a need for extremely flat hair extensions (weaves, sew-ins - all are considered forms of hair extensions). As our culture evolves genetically (inter-racial relationships etc) traits that existed primarily in one ethnic group are now coming up in others. When it comes to hair some women are grateful for this others are not - luck of the draw you could say!
Today, hair extensions are as popular as any form of self enhancement. I like to think of hair extensions as a fashion accessory no different than putting on make-up or working out to improve your outer appearance!

Over 20 million women in the U.S. suffer with some form of alopecia (hair loss). From thinning hair to complete hair loss (alopecia areata, alopecia totalis) the affect on a woman's self esteem can be staggering. Causes range from stress to chemotherapy side effects (stress is the usual culprit) and while much can be remedied with relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation, or improved diet (try eating more Kidney Beans or making a tea from Nettle and Horsetail herbs - more info at LishaTV.com on diet and nutrition) the best and most effective immediate solution is hair extensions!

Rihanna has been named, "Sexiest Woman Alive 2011" by Esquire Magazine! I think this is a perfect example of what I call the "Puerto Rican Perm" (texturizing the hair). I will be posting how to get this look in my next blog. What I mean by 'texturizing' is using the relaxer to smooth the cuticle of a tight, cork-screw curl of African-American hair (essentially elongating the curl). This is a beautiful, natural look and easy wash & wear. This look also keeps you from having to blow dry, curling iron or flat iron your hair (keeping it healthier longer). I suggest using Luster's Pink Original Oil Moisturizer Hair Lotion (a small amount keeps your hair from drying out/frizzing and helps maintain the curl pattern).

As I was listening to a recent hair extension student tell me about the lack of properly trained hair extension experts in her city I couldn't help but think of the tremendous opportunity SHE was seizing by taking a class with me. It's the common denominator in just about every success story. The person on the receiving end of tremendous wealth and opportunity says, "I saw a need and I filled it."
If you see you that salons in your area are not providing good service or products - be the first in your area to change that! Nothing markets itself better than a good product or service. Word will get around and you will be successful! In the hair extension business, amazingly, many salons are still only offering braided, cornrowed or glued-in (or bonded) methods of hair extensions.
Advance Your Hair Extension Career! How to start a hair extension business!
Who doesn't want to look younger and more beautiful?! While a facelift is a nice idea, not everyone can afford it and not everyone is excited about the potentially invasive procedures on the market. So why not try something different?
We've all heard the expression, "hair frames the face". It's true, and anyone who has ever framed a picture knows that the frame can make or break that picture! For many women the tendency is to cut hair shorter as they get older but this has much to do with hair health and also the pressure of society on a woman to 'stop trying to be sexy' after 40, 50 or 60 years of age, as it does with what actually works aesthetically for older women. Face Lift Alternative! Diet Improves Hair Growth!
Using 18” wefted raw Indian hair, the Swedish Technique is good for all hair types: Caucasion, African-American, relaxed (permed) or in it’s natural state. The Swedish Technique is especially good for thin or fine hair. The beauty of the Swedish Technique is that there are no braids, glue or cornrows, making it very flat, smooth, natural looking and, most importantly, healthy on the hair. If time is short, don’t worry, the Swedish Technique is fast! A full head takes just 2-3 hours to completeand last 2-3 months! Caring for the Swedish Technique is easy with washes 2-3 times per week. Air drying is best unless a diffuser is used with a blow dryer. Roller setting and or use a curling iron to style as usual, the Swedish Technique accomadates just about any style!

Anne Hathaway In Tears Over Her Hair
Anne Hathaway is going through what so many women go through after experiencing hair loss, either by choice or circumstance beyond their control (alopecia, hair loss due to stress, chemotherapy etc). Trauma! Hathaway describes it best herself. “I’ve now done back-flips out of windows, I’ve jumped off buildings. And cutting my hair reduced me to, like, mental patient-level crying. I was inconsolable.”
Hair Extensions for Olympic Athletes!
I admit, hair extensions are not the first thing you think of when watching the Olympics. But as I was watching highlights from the Games in London I started to reflect on all my clients who are athletes and how many of them compete at their sport with hair extensions in.
I always ask clients what they intend to be doing while wearing their hair extensions as this influences which technique to use. I've put hair extensions on boxers (Laila Ali & Christina Hernandez), bodybuilders (Madonna Grimes - U.S. Fitness Champ), many sports - from tennis to swimming!
Houston's Image Expo 2012 was a fabulous trade show for the hair and cosmetology industry in Houston! According to The Image Expo VP, Keith Bryant, attendance was up 27% with over 7000 cosmetologists, stylists and salon owners coming out to the Reliant Center. "Houston is starving for a show like this!" said Bryant. And he's right! I've attended many, many trade shows over the years and Image Expo was absolutely one of the best and most well-organized I've seen!
I was there demonstrating my award winning hair extension techniques with no braids, glue, cornrows or bonding for show attendees! My methods of hair extensions are flat and smooth and healthy on the client's natural hair. There's a video on YouTube of this event as well:

Custom Integration Hair Extensions: Star Solutions!
Working in Hollywood for many stars I learned that most don't have naturally beautifully flawless hair. Of course everyone's heard about the many hours in "hair and make-up" that an actor or TV personality goes through but hair extensions are not the first thing you think of when it comes to celebrity glamour.
My 20 years experience working with model, actress, and singer Shari Belafonte, as her personal hair extension stylist had me constantly creating new looks. As a supermodel on the cover of Vogue Magazine four times, a TV star, and one of Fortune Magazine's list of "most trusted spokes-people in America" (everything from Calvin Klein jeans - taking over from Brooke Sheilds in the 80's - to Slim Fast in the 2000's) Shari's hair and fashion were under constant scrutiny.
